For artists who have problems with perspective (furniture etc.) in indoor scenes like me - there’s an online programm called roomsketcher where you can design a house/roon and snap pictures of it using different perspectives.

It’s got an almost endless range of furniture, doors, windows, stairs etc and is easy to use. In addition to that, you don’t have to install anything and if you create an account (which is free) you can save and return to your houses.

Examples (all done by me):

Here’s an example for how you can use it

Writing 101

pwnie3:

  • Okay, where does the chapter start
  • Shit, no he wouldn’t say that…
  • Am I foreshadowing too hard
  • I’ve used the word ‘chair’ seventeen times in the paragraph. This is supposed to be exposition about snakes
  • WHAT DO YOU MEAN I’VE BEEN WRITING IN THE WRONG TENSE FOR THE LAST PAGE AND A HALF
  • I need a break from this story
  • Wait, where was I? Did I just kill her, or did she just make out with someone?
    • She did both??????
  • Have I been misspelling his name this entire time or
  • If I have to resort to describing her hair as ‘golden princess curls’ one more time I think I’m just gonna have to kill her
  • IS THIS SYMBOLISM SUBTLE ENOUGH YET
  • Did I actually just write that
  • Have I referenced his necklace yet this chapter? Only four times? One more time, then I’m done, I swear
  • Shit, that’s not how that works
  • Can I call something a French braid in a world where France doesn’t exist?
  • What the shit do you mean I just spent four hours writing 500 words?

there’s a lot of evidence that the iliad and the odyssey were actually composed by a variety of poets through an oral tradition rather than just by one poet, so what if the homeric texts are actually just a very long game of D&D

homer, the dm: okay achilles, agamemnon has just taken away your war prize, what do you want to do
achilles’ player: i roll to have a diplomatic conversation with agamemnon
achilles’ player: *rolls a 1*
homer: you throw the staff of speaking at agamemnon’s face and storm off to sulk with your boyfriend

Homer, the DM: Your beautiful Patroclus is dead. What do you do?
Achilles’ player: I fight everyone.
Homer, the DM: You can’t fight everyone. How would you even–
Achilles’ player: *rolls a 20* I fight everyone.
Homer, the DM: *sighs* Fine. You cut a path through the Trojan army, enemy dead strewn in your wake.
Achilles’ player: How many?
Homer, the DM: …lots. Enough to clog the friggin’ river with bodies.
Achilles’ player: I fight the river.
Homer, the DM: You. can. not. fight. the. river.
Achilles’ player: *reaches for dice*

Homer, the DM: Okay guys, so the war’s over, you had a bunch of losses but you won in the end. Time to go home, let’s roll to see who gets there firs—

Odysseus’s player: I got a critical failure.

Homer: The cyclops asks you who you are. What do you do?

Odysseus’s player: I say, “Who me? I’m nobody.”

Homer: Roll for deception.

Odysseus’s player: I got a natural 20.

Homer: The cyclops now completely believes that your name is Nobody. He shouts for help from the other cyclops but they ignore him because he’s telling them that “Nobody hurt him.”

Odysseus’s player: FUCK yes

Google has built a stunning, searchable archive of 3,000 years of world fashion

“We Wear Culture” is a collaboration between Google and more than 180 museums, schools, fashion institutions, and other organizations from all parts of the globe. It’s part of Google’s Arts & Culture platform, which is digitizing the world’s cultural treasures, and functions as a searchable guide to a collective archive of some 30,000 fashion pieces that puts “three millennia of fashion at your fingertips,” Google says.

But it isn’t just a database. Google has worked with curators to create more than 450 exhibits on different topics—say, how the cheongsam changed the way Chinese women dress—making the site an endlessly entertaining, educational portal filled with stunning imagery touching on everything from modern Japanese streetwear to the clothes worn at the court of Versailles.

i can already tell this has made writing for historical fandoms – the worst part of which, for me, is absofuckinglutely hands-down the clothing – much easier.

Painful Character Development

Have some painful character development ideas, because if I have to suffer, so do you.

  1. What would your character what their last words to be, and who would they want to say them to?
  2. If your characters’ loved ones were in danger but they only had time to save one of their lives, who would they choose?
  3. Your character is given the choice to either die an excruciatingly painful death or have one of their loved ones die in a painless way. Do they save their loved one’s life or their own?
  4. Your character has the opportunity to fix one of their most grievous mistakes, but doing so will ensure that they never meet at least one of their loved ones and they will not have any memory of their relationship with those loved ones. Do they take the chance to fix the mistake anyway?
  5. What are your character’s deepest regrets?
  6. Are there any events in your character’s life that they feel wholly negative about, no silver lining whatsoever?
  7. Does your character have any unfulfilled dreams that can never come true?
  8. How was your character first introduced to the concept of death? How did they react?
  9. Does your character have any negative associations with otherwise neutral or positive things–i.e., not liking a certain television show because their parents always argued during the time that it came on and the character watched it as a (failed) attempt to distract themselves.

I hate glamorizing over-working. It’s not healthy. The fact that there are so many people going without sleep, food, personal hygiene (not to mention time for relaxation, personal time, and socialization, which are very necessary for mental health) just to stay afloat is not something to be celebrated or applauded. It’s a problem, not a goal that all good employees should aspire to, or a norm everyone should be expected to perform.

Fun Vampire Fact; the reason that Vampires traditionally cannot see their reflections in a mirror is because mirrors used to be backed with a reflective layer of silver — which, as the metal of purity, would not ‘interact’ with Vampires, who are the Devil’s work.

However, modern mirrors have used aluminum as their reflective backing for many years now — and aluminum is not a ‘picky’ metal at all. So Vampires are able to see their reflections in modern mirrors.

All I can think about is a vampire used to not seeing their reflection in mirrors for centuries, and one day they are just walking along and unknowingly pass a mirror backed with aluminum and THEY NEARLY SHIT THEMSELVES.

Mermaid Crowns” by Chelseas Flowercrowns

Chelsea started as a florist in Melbourne, Australia when she was a teenager and has always been passionate about nature and floristry. She then began to create flowercrowns to cover her scar on her forehead, which was a result of an incident when she was just a baby. At the time flowercrowns were just beginning to be sold in shops, however majority of other crowns lacked detail and individuality. Chelsea saw this as an opportunity to not only create crowns for herself, but for others around her who wanted something different yet beautiful.

Over time, she expanded her range to Mermaid Crowns which have taken the world by storm. Her Mermaid Crowns allow girls alike to be the mermaid they always dreamed of since being a little girl.

Follow her journey via social media, and if you would like to access your inner Ariel, purchase a crown from her shop or etsy.

Me, 3/4ths through the fight scene:
*desperately googling how much blood someone can loose and still stay conscious, how long someone's heart can keep beating after they stop breathing, and how much flesh you can rip out of someone without causing permanent damage to the muscle.* They'll still get out alive, probably. No biggy, no biggy. This is totally under control...
